Meet Elinor Courson, MS, LMFT

Faith-Informed, Attachment-Based Therapist for Women in Texas

Grace found in the seasons of life that take grit.

I am a Faith-Informed, Attachment-Based therapist for women in Texas. I offer virtual therapy statewide and will offer in-person sessions within Dallas/Fort Worth in Fall 2026

My practice is centered on helping women experience grace in the seasons of life that take grit, with a focus on nervous system regulation and repair after trauma, abuse, and loss

The Personal

A guiding principle in my life and the heart behind Grace & Grit Therapy is found in 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NIV):

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

My prayer is that Grace & Grit Therapy will be a lifelong “thank you” to God for the ways He has rescued and sustained me, and a place where I can care for others out of the grace and comfort I have received.

The Professional

Grace & Grit Therapy reflects both my personal faith and my approach to therapy.

My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and is at the heart of Grace & Grit Therapy. I choose to be open about my faith because I believe you deserve to know who is sitting across from you and to decide whether that feels like the right fit for you.

That doesn’t mean faith has to be part of your therapy. If your faith is important to you and you want to incorporate it into our work, there is room for that here. If you don’t, that’s okay too. You get to decide what role, if any, faith has in our work together.

My role as your therapist is not to preach, persuade, or provide spiritual answers. It is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can make sense of your experiences and move toward connection, restoration, and a life that feels more like your own.

Have questions?

The Real

Therapy is deeply personal, and it asks you to bring some of the most vulnerable parts of your story into the room.

You deserve a space where you feel deeply understood and don’t have to wonder how what you share will be handled.

I Believe

  • God understands our heartbreak, loss, betrayal, and grief, and meets us there with grace.

  • We were created for connection with God, ourselves, and others.

  • When relationships wound us, our sense of safety, connection, and identity can be deeply affected.

  • Therapy can offer space to understand what happened, restore what was lost, and move forward with greater clarity and choice.

I Won’t

  • Force my beliefs on you or question the reality of what you’ve lived through.

  • Use faith to dismiss, minimize, or explain away your pain.

  • Tell you to “forgive and forget” or use faith to justify tolerating abuse.

  • Pressure you to return to a church, relationship, or situation that has caused you harm.

  • Expect you to forgive or reconcile with someone who has harmed you.

I Will

  • Bring an understanding of church culture, faith communities, and spiritual struggles, so you don't have to explain every detail.

  • Meet your story with empathy, curiosity, and respect.

  • Make space for your questions, doubts, and process at a pace that feels right for you.

  • Let you decide if and how faith becomes part of our work together.
